A feel-good atmosphere
Illuminated ceiling at Hotel Corsten, Heinsberg
In the dining room of Hotel Corsten in Heinsberg, a modern light ceiling with custom printing was installed over approximately 25 m². The aim of the project was to enhance the aesthetics and atmosphere of an existing ceiling recess.
From the planning stage, Mr Dohmen was closely involved in the creative design and technical development of the project. The visual concept, construction and lighting effect were carefully studied and coordinated.
Prior to the transformation, the area featured a conventional tiled suspended ceiling with little visual appeal. The existing recess in the ceiling was used constructively to effectively integrate the new lighting solution.
A light ceiling with an abstract pattern of golden palm leaves on a black background was installed. This motif gives the space a distinctive elegance and creates a strong visual focal point.
Technical scope:
- use of existing ceiling opening
- integration of modern perimeter lighting
- profile mounting within the existing structure
- installation of an additional protective film to prevent insect deposits on the printed ceiling
- fitting of the printed membrane.
All work was completed in a single day, allowing hotel and restaurant operations to continue uninterrupted.
The new light ceiling now acts as a genuine focal point that visually elevates the dining room. The combination of indirect perimeter lighting and the contrasting motif creates a distinctive atmosphere and reinforces the visual identity of the restaurant. This project perfectly illustrates how targeted modernisation of existing structures can deliver a lasting aesthetic improvement with minimal disruption.
