Knowledge for
Better Room Acoustics
Your Route to TÜV-Certified Expertise
Good indoor acoustics are essential for concentration, speech intelligibility and wellbeing — in offices, learning environments, conference areas and modern workplaces. Micro-perforated stretch ceilings offer a solution that is both high-performing and visually refined.
At the seminar “Sound: Curse and Blessing in Architecture”, you will gain an in-depth understanding of how sound is generated, how it behaves within a space, and how acoustic issues can be resolved in a targeted way. You will also learn how to plan in compliance with relevant standards and how to effectively integrate acoustic solutions into your architectural projects.
Participation earns 9 continuing professional development (CPD) points, recognised by the Chamber of Architects.

Das Seminar vermittelt Grundlagen, Normen und Methoden der Raumakustik – kombiniert mit praktischen Übungen, realen Beispielen und gemeinsamer Arbeit an akustischen Planungsszenarien.
Programme overview:
- Introduction: what does “acoustics” actually mean?
- The ear and sound perception
- Types of sound: emission, immission, absorption, insulation
- When does sound become a nuisance? Psychological and psychosomatic factors
- How does sound behave in a space? How can it be directed?
- Group work: standards-compliant space planning
- Relevant standards and regulatory frameworks: DIN 18041, ASR
- Application of modern acoustic products — including micro-perforation analysis
- Practical listening examples for reverberation (before / after)
